National Archives of Cambodia

Resources

 

The records in the collection trace the events and decisions that shaped Cambodian state and society since the 19th century. It holds documents produced or collected by the French colonial and the Cambodian governments since independence from the national down to the communal level. 14 collections are available.

Library of the French Institute of Cambodia

Resources

Large collection of book in various subjects, with a few publications on Cambodia and Southeast Asia. Most of the publications are in French, but there is also an interesting collection of Khmer references. Very few English references on Cambodia. Some research books are available, and also journals, DVDs, CD-ROM, films.

Monday: closed ; Tuesday to Friday: 09h-18h ; Saturday: 10h-18h

The entrance and on-site consultation is free for all. To borrow materials, it is necessary to register:

Rate students - school: 2 USD for Cambodia ; 5 USD for foreigners

Buddhist Institute Library

Cambodia Development Research Institut (CDRI)

Resources

The CDRI library is a comprehensive information center, providing access to a wide range resources on socio-economic and development issues. The more than 10,000 titles stored in the library include written, audiovisual, CD based and web-based information as well as databases.

With a membership card ( 5$), it is possible to borrow up to 4 books from the library.

Center for Khmer Studies (CKS) in Siem Reap

5,000 titles, volumes and journals. Our journal collection includes, among others: KambujaSoriya , Bulletin de l'École française d'Extrême-Orient , Aséanie , Asian Perspectives and the journals of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization's Regional Centre for Archaeology and Fine Arts (SPAFA) and the Siam Society. The collection also contains unique out-of-print publications from local and overseas libraries, a wide selection of M.A. and Ph.D. dissertations from overseas universities and research papers by Cambodian students from Phnom Penh Universities and CKS Fellows. Dictionaries, encyclopedias, bibliographies, directories, maps, guidebooks and daily national newspapers in English, French and Khmer are also available for reference.

Bophana Center

Resources

The Audiovisual Resource Center has adopted several missions since it opened in 2005: collection of the images and sounds of the Cambodian memory and making them available to a wide public, training Cambodians in the audiovisual professions by welcoming foreign film productions and by its own artistic projects.

Hun Sen Library

Resources

The currently has 39 000 books : 62 % in English, 22 % in Khmer, 15 % in French, and the remainder in Japonese, Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai. There is an extensive reference collection and a comprehensive loans collection.

Library of the Ecole française d'Extrême-Orient (EFEO) in Siem Reap

Resources

1,400 volumes in French, Khmer and English, a complete collection of maps of the country, and a number of computerised resources. Most of the collections consist of material from the Angkor and Angkor Conservation Office archives from 1908 to 1975 (available on microfiche or CD-ROM on one of the library's public access computers), while other collections serve as documentary resources for the Centre's research teams: ancient Cambodian history, archaeology and architecture; epigraphy; linguistics; and ethnology.

Gender and development for Cambodia Library

Resources

The GAD/C Resource Centre houses a collection of gender relate literature that covers all aspects of gender and offers a broad source of research material to the public. As a resource library specific to gender issues. GAD/C Library material may be borrowed by placing a request for an item through librarian and can borrow 3 copies once a week.

Chab Dai library

Resources

The Chab Dai library offers member organizations and individuals to access relevant resources and research in English, Khmer, and Vietnamese. The library get a collection of over 1,300 resources in English that have been organized in over 60 categories mainly on human rafficking and abuse in Cambodia.

The library in Cambodia is under construction.
